Producer Stephen Levinson and actor Mark Wahlberg came up with the idea for the movie when they were in quarantine. After that, they hired writer David Guggenheim (Safe House, Designated Survivor) to create the script. Everything fell into place when Netflix agreed to invest a significant amount of money in the film after viewing a 36-page draft.

Additionally, they claimed that 250 Croatian film industry specialists had been working on the production for 12 days straight in Istria, with interruptions for location changes. The movie is being service-produced by Pakt Media in Croatia.
Parts of the Mark Wahlberg movie were filmed in Trieste and London earlier this year. In addition, the cities of Pula and Rovinj, both in the coastal region of Istria, and several smaller localities, including Kanfanar, Dvigrad, Rakalj, and Marana, served as filming sites in Croatia.
The film crew relocated from Croatia to Slovenia in late September, where they will continue filming in the adjacent Slovenian town of Piran. As per sources, the shooting for the film has ended, and it is all set to release anytime soon in 2023. However, the final release date for the film has yet to be revealed.
